• Greek God • HADES
God of the Underworld, Death
• Innate Ability •
Shadow Manipulation
(Not darkness manipulation. His ability requires a shadow for him to manipulate be it his own, another persons', or some other object (the smaller the shadow, the weaker his ability). And for there to be a shadow, a light source must be present. Shadow Manipulation is rendered useless in complete darkness.)
• Name •
Dante Arce
• Age|Birthdate •
18 | December 20
• Gender •
Male
• Sexuality •
Bisexual
• Height|Weight •
5'11'' | 68 kg
• Appearance •
Dante has a pale complexion (or "bloodless skin" as others would describe), and his lengthy hair is a contrasting raven black falling midway down his back, which he usually ties up. He has soft silver eyes that are somewhat hidden under his side-swept bangs. He has two piercings on his right ear, and etched (tattooed) on his back is a pair of wings. He is often mistaken as being female at first glance due to his long hair, pale skin, and svelte build. Dante's wardrobe consists mostly of dark colors, and his usual outfit is a dark shawl collared shirt, with jeans or sweatpants and high-top sneakers. His overall look generally gives off a gloomy vibe.
• Personality •
You wouldn't call him particularly shy, but he is rather reserved.
Dante is quite the passive soul and would probably be awarded with "Most likely to be bystander". It's not that he is cowardly, Dante just finds it far more interesting to let the nature of every situation play out on its own and accept the result for whatever it may be (be it good or bad). He also has a curious habit of observing others from a distance. Due to his lack of socializing with others, conversations may make him seem insensitive; however, there is honesty in what he says.
Having gone through the unfortunate school days of his childhood, it's hard for Dante to take people at face value, and he is especially weary of girls. Despite the seemingly dark aura that lingers around him, he is surprisingly gentle and kind at heart. And as quiet and reserved as he is, nothing excites him more than a good video game match.

(yup, this underworlder kiddo landed in Asia XDD And it actually works so I'm rolling with it o.o
Warning: I'm pretty much making stuff up and exaggerating as I go along..my thoughts aren't collected at all "orz)
When Dante would ask his "Nana" how he was found, she would reminisce about it and smile saying "I prayed and prayed to the heavens for many years asking for a child. And one day, the heavens finally answered. It came as a surprise when I found you lying in a bed of red chrysanthemum flowers." Other times, she would exaggerate to the neighbors telling the tale of how the heavens had sent him to her in reward for her life-long years of good deeds. It seems the "heavens" had sent him to the tropical island of Hong Kong, and he always thought the great sky had mistaken his intended location. His Nana was 63 when she found him; a widow who bore the curse of being unable to conceive. Having found him among red flowers, she named him "丹特 (Dān tè)" meaning "Red" and "Special".
Despite having married a foreigner and inheriting his surname "Arce", Nana still greatly valued Chinese traditions and the teachings of Confucius. And so she did not allow Dante to cut his hair for Confucius taught: "We are given our body, skin and hair from our parents; which we ought not to damage. This idea is the quintessence of filial duty." He didn't particularly mind as it seemed to please his Nana being able to comb his hair every morning. Dante also grew up with a great deal of other teachings and superstitions. (Like, if one points at the moon with one’s finger it will make one’s ear tips fall off. haha XD And do not sweep during the New Years because if one does so he will sweep away all the good fortune!!)
Going to school proved to be a nightmare. He evidently stood out-- not just because he was a foreigner, but also because he had an odd eye color, was pale, and most of all he had long hair. It was the 21st Century and he had long hair. He was deemed the joke of the class. It wasn't long before the other kids nicknamed him "ghost boy" out of a misguided distaste for foreigners in reference to 鬼佬 gweilo-- a Cantonese slang used to describe foreigners with the literal meaning of "Ghost" and "Man". The attention he received came in the form of snickers and sneers, and practical jokes from the boys. However, the girls were far scarier in Dante's opinion. There were two types of them; ones who would whisper and steal side glances as he walked the hall, and giggle when he returned a glance as if he were some exotic specimen; and the others who would eye him with disgust while talking loudly behind his back with every intention of letting him hear them. For most part, he kept to himself and learned to tune everyone out. (He also secretly got wings tattooed on his back and piercings hidden under his hair as his form of rebellion against the school's strict regulations.) However, their abhorrence of him worsened when his healthy Nana had suddenly fallen ill to some unknown cause. The neighbors started to gossip about him saying things like "Look at his deathly pale skin and eyes. It is unnatural, he must be cursed." They claimed he was cursed and labeled him as the "Death bringer (死亡使者 Sǐwáng shǐzhě)." Yet his Nana who had raised him would always ask him to forgive and forget for "To be wronged is nothing unless you continue to remember it."
Nonetheless, he stumbled upon one he could truly call a "friend" in the midst of his teenage years. A friend who introduced him the world of video games (yay!) and motorcycling. For about a year and a half, he felt accepted for who he was. The ill rumors surrounding him seemed to have dispersed momentarily, but it wasn't long before they came hurtling back when his friend got into a motorcycling accident rendering him in a comatose state. A distraught Dante was left struggling against rumors wondering himself if they could possibly be true.
The rumors of him only continued to worsen when everyone took into account that fact that he had been found. The superstitious, nosy elders (who spend their afternoons lazing around complaining to each other) of the community took this as a sign that he was actually an "evil" sent by the heavens as punishment. Nana of course, didn't believe Dante brought any harm to them, because she knew she raised him to be kind, and gentle. However, she agreed that it would be better to send him away. Not to be rid of him, but to give him a chance at living a better life.
And it was off to Mythos University (p.s. he adopted Cerberus several months before leaving for Mythos).
