Orientation has ended and classes have begun. The first week of school has finally ended.
DATE Monday, September 17th
WEATHER Oddly warm and humid
CONTEXT "Unfortunately, Professor Taric (the Greek Tragedy teacher) is absent due to illness. Since you students are already here, you may either stay in the classroom and treat the time as a study period (apparently you all have a research paper on Hercules due Thursday), or you may leave and venture off campus."
**IMPORTANT INFO** * The "Introduction to Greek Tragedy: Gods, Heroes, Fate, and Justice" class consists of 13 students (all our characters!) and meets Monday to Thursday from 10-11:30. Although they're not all acquainted, they at least know of each other's names and have a rough idea of each other's personality due to ice breakers and group work during the first week of class.
* Students of course have other classes that they're enrolled in, but those can be rp-ed in spin-offs (since everyone has different majors).
* Also, since all the students have met, their powers have been activated. They may start experiencing strange phenomena from here on out!

LOCATION Stranded in a classroom
MOOD Bored Lucas was mildly amused by the fidgety teacher assistant as he uncomfortably read Professor Taric's note to the students before hastily deserting the classroom. This left Lucas facing the eternal question—to study or not to study. His knowledge of Hercules was restricted to movies and children's stories, so he'd have to research it before he could even begin the assignment. Ugh. The thought of all this work was enough to make him feel nauseated. He wanted to do well in the class, of course, but he hated putting in so much effort. And today was MONDAY. Thursday was a long ways away. Maybe he'd take a nap. Other than a wall of textbooks, the classroom didn't really have much to do.
He tossed his eraser up in the air and caught it in his hand. Repeatedly. His boredom was eating away at him as he eavesdropped on other people's conversations. Lucas's goal was to appear cool, laid back, chill. Unfortunately, switching hands was a bad idea. His left hand not only failed to catch the eraser, but also knocked it over. He watched in horror as the eraser flew toward the back of Azalea Northampton's head. The collision was inevitable. Shit. Why her? WHY COULDN'T IT BE GWEN? OR ANEMONE? In an attempt to feign innocence, he quickly leaned over and elbowed the student to his left.
Dante, Dante, Dante, Daaaaaaaaahhhn-taaaaaaaaaaay. What's your plan for today? Can I come too?
Lucas liked to think in his mind that he and his roommate were "friends" now. After all, the chopsticks had been making fewer appearances. That must be a sign of a blooming brotherhood. As he listened to his roommate's response, Lucas sneaked a glance at Azalea. Did she realize it was me... His palms were sweating. He had a fear of girls with such... strong personalities.

Dante mumbled irritably as he dragged his feet along, driving passersby towards a different direction in an attempt to avoid him. It was clear that his mumbling was something about "Greek Tragedy class" and "Monday" -- obviously not his favorite class. He walked into the classroom and sat down in an evidently unenthusiastic manner, hardly paying any mind to his surroundings. Before the class even started, he opened his textbook and stood it upright (failing to notice it was actually upside-down) to cover his face, then proceeded to pull out his PSP to finish his game from earlier this morning.
Dante's focus on his game was unparalleled, even as the teacher began to give his lecture - or at least Dante assumed it was a lecture since he had taken no notice that a teaching assistant had come in place of his regular professor today. It wasn't until shortly after when Dante felt himself being elbowed and heard his name being called multiple times, "Dante, Dante, Dante, Daaaaaaaaahhhn-taaaaaaaaaaay." before he finally lift his attention from his PSP towards the source of the calling. He turned to see Lucas sitting next to him. Was he always sitting there? His thoughts were interrupted by more questions. "What's your plan for today? Can I come too?"
"I was just planning to--" Dante glanced down at his game mid-sentence and immediately shot up from his seat, knocking his textbook over and revealing his PSP, "AAAH. I LOST! DAMMIT LUC--" He stopped as soon as he realized his sudden outburst led to most of the class glancing in his general direction. He instantly sat back down and pulled his hood over to hide his embarrassment, before sending a glare at Lucas. "Thanks." He muttered sarcastically while shoving the Game Over screen in Lucas' face to illustrate the tragedy he had just caused. "Anyway, I was planning on taking Cerberus to a nearby park in the city so he can let out some energy. He's been stuck in the dorm ever since we arrived on campus. Besides, the other class I have today is math. Pretty easy course since I took advanced math in Hong Kong, so I'm thinking of ditching."

Location: Classroom Mood: Exasperated
The look of surprise on Elunia's face was quite obvious when the teacher assistant read out loud that Professor Taric wasn't here today. His name had always reminded her of a video game character, but that character was.. Unpleasant. Elunia thought the smell of the classroom was kind of weird, so hopefully she could find someone to head off with. It would be awkward if she was the only one that left... But then again, they had a research paper due! On Thursday! That was not enough time for her to finish an entire essay that was well written. What would she do?!
She could, of course, start her paper now... Or research a bit at least. However, Elunia was feeling tired and sleepy and honestly she just wanted to relax for a bit. She had most of the day tomorrow to start it... And maybe she could get Pierce to edit her work, if he was feeling generous. Heh. Wait, did an eraser just fly past her? Nah, that was ridiculous, erasers couldn't fly. She watched in horror as the magical flying eraser hit Azalea, her roommate, on the back of her head. She whipped her head back around to see who had thrown it and it was that, uh, guy. What was his name again? Luke? Oh right, it was Lucas, or something like that. Why was Elunia not surprised? But all she did was issue a glare at the male and turned back around.
Not soon after, Elunia heard a, "AAAH. I LOST! DAMMIT LUC--" and an abrupt halt. Too exasperated to turn back around, she desperately tried to remember who sat beside Lucas. Was it Madison? The voice didn't sound like him though... Ah, who cared? What really mattered was that she needed something to do. "Hey Pierce." She turned to face the redhead seated behind her. "Wanna ditch class?" She playfully nudged him. "We could go get coffee."

Location: Some classroom...which one was this again..? Mood: ...eh.
Madison fought to quiet a yawn, barely listening as the assistant teacher started talking. For reasons known only to his subconscious, he'd woken up at four that morning, and he wasn't able to fall back asleep. Well, he was able to finish his morning jog before the sun rose...but that still left a number of hours before class that ended up wasted because he didn't want to do anything while people were still asleep...
He tuned back into the teacher's assistant as the man finished reading the note, just in time to hear "cancelled" and an incredibly vague description of a research paper assignment. Hercules, eh? What about him? His origin story? Myths featuring him? References to him in popular media? Are we supposed to summarize a story? How long does this paper have to be? Are there any formatting guidelines we have to follow for printing our essays? I know some professors are picky about these things...
Maybe he should've paid more attention...Hopefully he'd get a chance to ask the professor when he came back.
"AAAH. I LOST!" Madison glanced up to see Dante standing, video game in hand, apparently accusing Lucas of making him lose. That was unfortunate, but why did he bring the game with him to class? What if the professor had shown up? ...what if he'd lost and screamed like that in the middle of a lecture..?
Another yawn tried to escape; Madison didn't bother holding it back. Since class was cancelled, he was planning to leave. There were no other classes for him on Mondays, so it was a good chance to take care of a few things that he wasn't able to last week.
"I should probably buy some clothes first," he said to himself. He'd only brought a few outfits with him, since he'd intended to go shopping earlier than this. What stores were nearby? And could he find an excuse to go with Dante when he walked Cerberus?

Location: The Greek whatever Class Mood: Groggy, nicotine deprived, and in desperate need of a caffeine boost.
Syn was honestly relieved to hear that the class had the option to work on the paper or leave. He had felt himself slowly nodding off already while was waiting for class to start, since he had never been much of a morning person. He threw the thought of actually doing his research now for his paper and start off strong with his first semester with a good GPA... But that wasn't Syn's style. Plus he couldn't sit in the semi-silent classroom: he'd fall asleep if he stared at the textbook with this kind of atmosphere. He glanced around as he started to pack up his bag, wondering if he should ask if Azeir might want to go and possibly get coffee and something to eat...but he couldn't spot him in the sea of faces. Maybe some other time then. Shrugging, he slung his book bag over his shoulder and put an earpiece into one of his ears and started to the back entrance. Only to have a sudden burst of yelling happen a little behind him. He looked back to see Dante looking quite embarrassed as he sat beside Lucas. Shaking his head and feeling bad slightly for the guy, he continued on and didn't feel relieved until he was completely out of the academic building. He saw another familiar face that'd he'd stumbled upon the past week or so walking out of the building, but what was his name again was the true question. It was either Matthew or Madison... Madison sounds more familiar. Mentally accepting his choice, he noticed it seemed like the guy was preoccupied with something. He nodded and gave a simple "Sup man" towards Madison as he passed by and pulled out his cigarettes and put one in his mouth as he tried to remember where the coffee shop was.

Location: Greek Tragedy Class Mood: Bored-->Excited Outfit: Gwen was anxious at first to step into a class about Greek Tragedy. She was never a history or literature buff. Yeah she knew all the classics and all the major things in history, her teachers in high school made it a point for her to know those things, as well as her pageant coach, but she never liked those classes. She was much more interested in science classes. Science was forever changing and things actually happened in science class. The most excitment that ever happened in history and literature classes were if someone fell out of their chair in class from sleeping. But after the first week went by she found it wasn't hard at all. As the TA started stuttering and stumbling over his words, trying to get out the notes Professor Taric left him, she got on her phone. By the sound of it she would get done checking her social media pages before the TA was done explaining whatever he wanted to explain. She opened a link her mother sent her Tullulah Laslo, Favorite to Win Miss Teen New York!? What!? That clumsy idiot was their favorite to win?" She scoffed at this. It was a sad day for New York if Tullula was chosen as their representative for the most beautiful girl in the state. That girl wouldn't be able to find New York on a map if there was a big red arrow pointing to it. Still, she had a reputation to keep and she wrote some encouraging words to all the contestants and Tullulah. She rolled her eyes at the answers to her interview questions, she couldn't believe the brunette 'opera singer' was her replacement. But that life was behind her now, so what should she care. She had more important things to worry about now. She looked up at the TA just as he began explaining the assignment. An essay about Hercules. Too easy. Then he began packing up and simply left. Really? That was it? She shook her head, she wasn't opposed to it at all. But what to do with her time? She had a couple hours before her next class, she could do something more fun than study, she was sure of it. She looked around and over heard several conversations about what every one was going to do. Parks and coffee shops was what everone seemed to be doing. She put her phone up and started towards the door, she would wait for Madeline, but she didn't want anyone to think that Madeline was her only friend in the class, even though she was now that she thought about it. Well now would be as good time as ever to make new friends. As she walked towards the door she spotted two guys, Madison and Syn. She wouldn't mind getting to know two hot guys. It actually excited her a bit. She walked up to them with a smile, hoping they already didn't have plans with each other before she started speaking. "Hey guys. I was just thinking that I don't really know anyone in this class and how I would like to get to know everyone. If you have the time do you want to go get some coffee?" she said confidently with a nice smile hoping that they would say yes.

Post by Essence on Sept 16, 2015 1:09:44 GMT
Location:: Greek Tragedy Classroom Mood:: Bored & Tired >> A little bit awkward >> Anxious
Chin rested in her hand, it took a great amount of effort for Essence to keep her eyes open. Though she hadn't been very tired before, Greek Tragedy class blew the energy right out of her mind, and now she was exhausted. Okay, that was inaccurate. She wasn't tired, she was bored. Or maybe a little bit of both. She pulled out a macaroon out of her bag-she always kept them lying around somewhere- and took a bite. Then another. Feeling a burst of energy from the cookie, she opened her mouth to take another bite, but was startled to hear a, "AAAH. I LOST! DAMMIT LUC--", and she accidentally bite herself. "Ah, ____." She mumbled, putting the unfinished cookie in a plastic sandwich bag, then massaging her cheek. "...Professor Taric...absent...illness. " Essence blinked, stifling a half yawn half cough. Mmm? Absent...? Essence found it hard to process the information. She rubbed her eyes, hoping to clear her foggy mind, the bitten part of her mouth throbbing. "Since you students are already here, you may either stay in the classroom and treat the time as a study period, or you may leave and venture off campus." Essence remembered the Hercules paper due...uhh...on Tuesday? Right, it was due Thursday. It was Monday today. She smiled. I could do it today...or not. How wonderful it felt to not have anyone nagging her. As much as she loved her mother and father, it was a little suffocating to have them on her case 24/7, especially after the accident. As she pondered what to do, she glanced around, hearing snatches of conversations. She listened to Luke Skywalker Lucas, ask Dante the poet where he was going. She caught Lunette Elunia suggesting to Pie Pierce to ditch class together for coffee. She watched Lancelot Gwen invite two boys, Sydney Syn and Maid's Son Madison, for coffee. Tucking a strand of hair behind her ear, Essence wrung her hands together anxiously. It seemed that everyone had plans or was making some, and she felt a little awkward. Should she go invite herself to one of the many groups' plans, or just find someone else? Perhaps Anemone? But perhaps she was a bother to Anemone, and she didn't want to bug her anymore than she already had. Besides, looking around, Essence couldn't spot the black-haired girl anywhere. After sitting there for a long awkward minute, she decided to stop being an awkward potato for at least a second and ask if she could join in with someone. She bit her lip before approaching Gwen, Syn, and Madison with a small smile. "Excuse me, but would it be okay if I joined you guys? I don't know much people here, so, if it's okay with you..." Her voice trailed off, and she waited anxiously for their response. To be honest, she didn't quite remember being such an awkward tree back in France, but there, she did have her own group of friends, and no need to make new ones. Essence had been much more confident in France, hadn't she?

((Haven't heard a response for Madison ;; so I hope me continuing a bit will be fine for now.)) Location: Outside of class Mood: Surprised, Pretty chill
Syn wasn't entirely expecting a response from Madison from his short greeting, but their small interaction had seemed to catch the attention of a fellow freshman, a female at that. As the familiar attractive blonde came closer, Syn played the name game once again in his head as Gwen popped into mind as she came up to the both of them with a smile. Slightly surprised and not sure what to do, he tucked his cigarette behind his ear out of old habit as she asked about getting coffee. Not being a people person, he could simply pass up on the offer... But on the other hand, it was time for him to "try" and step out of his comfort zone. What would be the worst that could happen while getting a cup of joe to get to know some classmate? Maybe even better, they could all team up and help each other to write all of their essays together. Shrugging his shoulders, he grinned lopsidedly. "I have no issue with it. I was going to get some coffee anyways." Syn started, but noticed another familiar face he had seen before: Essence. Even more surprised to see the small amount of attention that small interaction had gotten. "Yeah, Why not? Even more to make the party go round," He tried to joke, wanting to cringe at his attempt to be funny. The only person left now to add into the party was Madison himself. "So my good gentleman, will you be joining the lovely ladies and myself to the indulgence of coffee?" Syn asked as he looked towards him.

[Sorry about that. ;-; It's okay that you continued.]
Location: Outside the classroom Mood: okay...Why are these people talking to me?
It took Madison a moment to realize people were talking to him; he was distracted trying to recall the locations of shops in the area. All he really registered of the conversation, at first, was that the tall guy (what's his name, again?) was talking to...um...the blonde girl...and...the other girl......
He frowned in concentration, but he couldn't really remember what stores were where. The conversation, he ignored since it had nothing to do with him. It wasn't until S(ine? Sid?) spoke again that Madison realized yes, the conversation did include him, and it was very rude of him to not pay attention. That being said, what exactly was the question?
Thankfully, S(al?) was able to provide some context: "So my good gentleman, will you be joining the lovely ladies and myself to the indulgence of coffee?"
"Ah..." So that's what it was. Madison suddenly felt shy for some reason...maybe because he couldn't remember any of their names while they were nice enough to invite him...
He gave a small nod and said, "Sure, I'll go". It wasn't his original plan, but it wouldn't hurt to get to know his classmates. Besides, one of them could probably tell him where a clothing store was.

Location:
Greek Tragedy classroom
Mood: Bummed out ---> "Snacks, snacks, snacks."
Pierce had always had a fondness for history. That was probably why he picked history as his major after all. It taught him how the mistakes of others had cost people their lives, and what to do so that history wouldn't repeat itself. It calmed him down after a long day, and made him think about the bigger picture. So, for Greek Tragedy to be a compulsory course, Pierce was pretty ecstatic. Sure, it wasn't focused on the whole spectrum of Greek history, but tragedy did play a huge part in Greece's past, so Pierce was eager to learn. Of course, he wasn't very eager when the TA announced that the professor was sick, before quickly rushing out of the class.
"Hm." Pierce let out a disappointed sigh before gathering up his materials that he laid out neatly on the desk. What a bummer. With had an irked expression on his face, the redhead turned around to tuck his things into his bag, thinking of what to do next. He could do that research paper that was due Thursday, but there was always tomorrow (or the next day, or the day after that) to do it. "AAAH. I LOST! DAMMIT LUC--" a voice rang out across from him, pulling Pierce from his thoughts to look at what was going on. He turned back around and saw the boy sitting next to Lucas pull his hoodie down, slumping down on the chair a bit. What happened to him? the redhead looked from the slumped figure to the blond, and back again, the scowl on his face turning into an empathetic expression. Oh Lord, what did Lucas do this time?
However, before Pierce could say anything, the silver haired girl turned around from in front of him and started speaking. "Hey Pierce, wanna ditch class?" Huh? She nudged the redhead on the arm while giving him a bright smile. "We could go get coffee." she said in a sing-song way which sounded like she was temping him with the devil's drink. Ech, coffee. "I'll pass on the coffee, but I'm willing to get out of here for some snacks while you drink?"

((I wrote this half asleep I'm sorry for what you're about to read)) Location: She's all over the place man -----> Classroom Mood: Please leave me alone ---> @@@!!!??! -----> more @@@!!!### With: Technically with everyone but really she's by her lonesome (search up lonesome and look at the pic of the turtle that's her) Anemone was softly mumbling along to a song that was playing, "One, two, three, they gonna run back to me. 'Cause I'm the best baby that they never gotta keep. One, two, three, they gonna run back to me They always wanna come, but they never wanna leave. Ex's and the oh-"Anemone glanced upwards, pursing her lips at the sight of someone plopping down into the booth in front of her. She took off her headphones and was about to leave when he began to speak.
"Can I sit here?" "You already are." "Yeah but if you say yes, I'll buy you coffee."
Anemone would've protested but a waitress took their order before she had time to leave.
--------------------------------------
Anemone picked up her cup of coffee and took a sip of it.
It's bitter
The 'date' was rather horrible. Anemone barely said ten words as he didn't let her talk at all. He was going on and on about his life, and after twenty minutes of ongoing rambling, Anenome was tempted to leave right then and there. When he left to go to the restroom, she threw enough money to pay for her drink on the table and basically ran out of there before he noticed she left.
--------------------------------------
It was only the second week of school, and Anemone managed to already be late to a class. She peeked through the back window and noticed that a teacher's assistant was walking up to the front of the class. She slowly opened the door and so that she could listen. By the grace of God, the professor was absent. Looking upwards, Anemone clasped her hands together and mouthed 'thank you'.
Anemone opened the door fully as soon as he left and almost flung it open at the sudden yelling voice coming from the inside of the classroom. After calming down from almost having a heart attack, she quietly enterted the classroom and took a seat towards the very back. Everyone was making plans at this point. Anemone would rather not go but would if they asked her to. Pulling out a blank sheet of paper, she started to try to write down a draft for her research paper.
Try to is exactly what she failed to do. All she had on the sheet of paper was her name and the title. Anemone softly chewed on the eraser of her pencil before crumpling the paper completely. She would just do the work when she actually had a computer in front of her.

(haven't heard a response for Azalea so… hope the way I continued is alright with you, Dioo) LOCATION Still stranded in a classroom
MOOD Casual "Anyway, I was planning on taking Cerberus to a nearby park in the city so he can let out some energy..."
Lucas half-listened to Dante, and half-listened to the other conversations going on in the classroom. Luckily, it didn't seem like Azalea had noticed his eraser, or if she had, she wasn't showing it. He exhaled a sigh of relief. Lucas was already pretty energized from that rush of adrenaline when he assumed his impending doom (a.k.a. the wrath of Azalea), so he didn't feel like tagging along for coffee. And pfft—his wardrobe was already on fleek. Who needs quantity when you have quality? He decided that bonding with his roommate and his pet were his best option. After all, there was no harm in earning some brownie points early on in the school year.
"...advanced math in Hong Kong, so I'm thinking of ditching."
"Yeah okay. I'll tag along," Lucas swiftly remarked, as he invited himself without a thought on whether to ask for permission. "Should we head out then? The sooner we get out of this stuffy classroom, the better." He couldn't wait to get outside and bask in the sunshine. Plus, dogs were a chick magnet. This is turning out to be a great day.

Is he even paying attention? Tsk. And after he made me lose too. But the blonde did seem to hear him, or at least half of what he was saying, because he was rather quick to agree, "Yeah okay. I'll tag along. Should we head out then? The sooner we get out of this stuffy classroom, the better."
Dante nodded, "Yeah let's hurry. We'll have to sneak Cerberus out somehow."
They quickly passed by a group of their classmates on the way out, and Dante caught something along the lines of "lovely ladies" and "coffee" in their conversation. Ah. A double-date... Is that what they call it here? I don't want to run into them. Dante didn't want more people finding out about Cerberus either. Information traveled fast and he didn't the increased risk of getting in trouble if he could help it. Once they were back in the dorm, Dante emptied out his backpack and lined the bottom with a cushion."Hey Ceb, we're going on a little trip today. Just you and me!" He had almost forgotten, "....and Lucas." He gently picked up Cerberus and placed him in the backpack along with a tennis ball and dog treats. "Now be good. It won't take us long to get there." Dante handed the squirming bag containing an ecstatic puppy to Lucas. "Mind carrying him for the ride? Oh, and I was thinking we could go to a park further from campus. You know, just in case. I've got an extra helmet so we can ride on my motorcycle." He glanced at Lucas wondering if the blonde would be fine with it, and added, "Don't worry, even my Nana's ridden with me before! And she's well (basically 86) -- ah, nevermind. It's safe." for reassurance.

Location: Greek Tragedy Class Mood: Bored-->Excited Outfit:Gwen was excited! Essence came over to join them, which was great because whether or not Syn said yes was moot because she would be going, and when she saw doubt in Syn's eyes she was sure that he was going to turn down her invitation, but having Essence, him, and Maddison go made her anxiousness die down. Her smile grew, "Great! Let's go. I am craving coffee so bad right now.” she said happily. She had always been a social butterfly, so not having friends everywhere made her uncomfortable. It was like she was left out, and she didn't like that feeling of being on the outside of things. “So how are you all liking Mythos so far? I am loving it! I mean it's only been a week, but it's been one of the best weeks of my life.” she said trying to spark some conversation within the group. They didn't have a long walk to get before the closest coffee place, but maybe they had preferences, “So does any one have somewhere in particular in mind? My car is close by if you want to go some where further away.” she said pulling out her keys just in case.
