"Yeah, Why not? Even more to make the party go round," Essence thought that was Syn's attempt at a joke, so she laughed lightly. It wasn't very funny, but she didn't want Syn to be hurt if he thought he was funny. She was just glad that he had accepted her into their little group. She had to stop herself from beaming, because it turned out university people weren't all that bad. She'd been afraid she couldn't make friends but everyone was so nice. Or maybe she was just a little too trusting. She reminded herself not to assume they were automatically friends.
"So my good gentleman, will you be joining the lovely ladies and myself to the indulgence of coffee?" Syn's voice snapped Essence out of her daydream. It took her a moment to realize Syn was talking to Madison. Her eyes drifted over to the dark haired male. "Ah...Sure, I'll go," Madison said, looking a bit uncertain in Essence's point of view. He seemed a bit shy, but that was okay.
As Gwen, Syn, and Madison continued with the conversation, Essence wondered if there was a book of rules about how you had to act when going out with colleagues. Whatever you do, Essence, remember not to call any of them by the wrong names. It's Syn, Madison, and Gwen, NOT Sydney, Maid's Son, or Lancelot. REMEMBER! She reminded herself with a mental nod. "-bad right now." Gwen's voice popped out suddenly. bad right now? Had she done something wrong? Despite something bad happening(according to Gwen), Gwen sounded weirdly happy right now. Had she missed something? Whatever, it's probably not anything important. Essence decided. “So how are you all liking Mythos so far? I am loving it! I mean it's only been a week, but it's been one of the best weeks of my life. So does any one have somewhere in particular in mind? My car is close by if you want to go some where further away.” Essence made a mental note that Gwen was quite the chatterbox. She wasn't sure what to say herself, Essence preferred listening to others talk, to be honest. "Uh...Yeah." Essence took a moment to reply. "I agree; it's been pretty good. University has a lot more work than high school, of course. But Mythos is turning out a lot better than I thought it would." She stopped herself from saying more, but added, "I don't mind I don't really know any coffee places around here." She glanced in Syn and Madison's direction. "What about you two?"
