Location: Walking Slowly down the path towards Dorms Mood: Fairly Wary --> Cranky (lost his cigs) --> Tired
Damn... This campus is bigger than I expected... The wind blowing through the slightly changing leaves, brought a slightly cold chill down Syn's back as he had finally found a parking spot for his older mustsng that has seen better days. The campus was bustling with new college students as well as those who seemed to know campus pretty well. But not like it mattered to Syn much anyway. He wasn't much for the whole "college freshmen experience" and he preferred to slowly get used to campus at his own pace. His hand subconciously went to clutch the necklace he had around his head as he sighed. "I know you would have enjoyed this, Jess," his voice softly echoed into the wind as he picked up his luggage and continued to follow the crowd to the dorms, or at least he hoped they were headed to one of the dorms. Syn had to admit that the campus scenery was actually really nice looking and he definitely could have imagined himself passed out on the quad or underneath a tree on a nice autumn day. The scenery here was definitely different from California, especially the temperature drop. Even the long ass drive he was stupid enough to take had a change in temperature for him. But not like he was prepared to complain. He decided to embrace it regardless. Luckily for Syn, the crowd didn't lead him wrong and he finally reached the residential hall region of the campus and he quickly looked at his package to confirm his dorm was Clio Hall. Muses huh? Interesting... he thought as he followed some of the crowd onwards. The line was profusely long for the time he arrived, and the kick of his nicotine addiction hit him as he fished through his pockets, only to groan at the realization of him misplacing his pack of cigarettes. Only angry at himself, he thought the line could never reach an end as he finally was able to check in an he recieved his room key. He rushed past the lingering crowds slowly making their way to their rooms as he went to find his a quick as possible. He finally found C102, and he fumbled with the key as he burst through the door to the empty but spacious room. He threw his bags down onto the most convenient bed before he rushed to lock the door and he made a quick and impatient jog to his car as his nerves finally calmed down at the sight of his cigarettes. Pulling one out and lighting it up, he took a long awaited drag and reeled in the sensation of the stock and thick smoke enter and exit his body. Walking back slowly to enjoy each puff, he was able to concentrate and finally move his belongings in to the place he knew he'd call home for the next four years of his life.

LOCATION Walking across campus toward the dorms
MOOD Enamored ➝ Irritated ➝ Exhausted
After twelve hours, three plane rides, and eight bags of beef jerky, Lucas Kamaka had finally arrived in Troy, Massachusetts. His entire Monday was spent traveling—not that he was complaining. It was his first time on an airplane, and most of the trip was spent admiring the scenery rather than sleeping. He was like a kid in a candy store, or well, an excited college student in a cramped airplane. The voices of the other passengers were drowned out by his headphones as he pressed his forehead against the window, marveling at the sight of a sunrise viewed from the clouds.
The taxi ride was far less enjoyable. Not only was Lucas sleep-deprived from the flight, but he had also spilled coffee all over his shorts after a sharp left turn. Are you kidding me... At least his driver was considerate enough to drop him off right outside of Elio Hall so that he wouldn't have to wander around campus with stained, wet pants. Arriving early in the morning did have its perks though. Most of the other students hadn't arrived, so the line for room keys was short and bearable. He quickly crept into his room (thank god it was right by the building's entrance), stripped off his shorts, and opened his suitcase to look for a fresh pair of pants. Alas, the first thing to catch his eye was the small pillow that used on his plane ride.
Too tired (and lazy) to function, Lucas immediately fell asleep on one of the two mattresses. Who needs to unpack bedding anyway? He didn't even bother putting on pants.

Location: Airport >> Bus >> Mythos Uni Mood: Excited
If there was one thing Elunia Williams hated, it was being woken up. Especially abruptly. She opened one eye, and then the other. The person beside her was snoring away and Elunia couldn't help but wonder how he could possibly sleep on this bumpy airplane.
Airplane. Elunia felt a shudder of excitement running through her body. Once this plane landed, she would be on her way to her new life without worrying if her family would be around to come back to haunt her. She would be lying if she said she wasn't afraid of her family coming to drag her back to England if they had changed their mind. She still remembered her dear older brother's last words to her before she left England for good.
"You're... You're leaving?" He demanded. "For how long?"
"Forever. I'm not coming back, Caleb. Do you really expect me to stay in that house?" She hadn't meant for her words to come out bitterly, but they had, and she could see the flicker of hurt in her brother's eyes. She could fill her eyes fill up with tears and she blinked them away, not allowing him to see her hurting as well. Elunia resisted the urge to run to her brother's side as she did when she was little and beg him to take her back.
"You can't be serious, Lune."
"But I am, Caleb. Why can't you just accept it?"
"Because America is too far away! I can't ever see you again..."
"We can webcam..." Elunia felt her voice getting quieter and realized that they both knew that they wouldn't keep in touch.
After a long moment of silence, his next words made her freeze. "When?"
She hid her gulp. "What do you mean when?"
"When are you leaving?" His eyes searched her face, looking for a sign of a joke but there was none.
"Tomorrow."
"I'll find a way to get you to come back. I swear, I will." She hoped it was just a joke but when she looked up, his eyes were full of determination.
Elunia let out a sigh, shaking her feelings of homesickness for her brother away. She had to forget about them or she would never lead a happy life here. She could have the life of her dreams here in America. All the American television shows she watched showed how cool the universities were, and Elunia still couldn't believe that she got accepted. It was like a dream come true, almost like Cinderella. Well.. Not Cinderella exactly, but you knew what she meant.
"Attention passengers, we will be landing shortly. Please make sure your seatbelts are on and fastened." i'm sorry i don't know what they say on airplanes
Before Elunia knew it, she was off the plane and on the bus to Mythos University. She fixed her shirt that was crooked slightly and breathed a sigh of relief. I'm really doing this. There's no turning back. Her eyes darted towards the one lavender-shaded suitcase that she brought along with a flower print messenger bag. Did she bring too little? Well, it wasn't like she had much belongings since she had left her parents' house anyways. But you never did know with Americans. That was something she picked up from the television shows.
She opened up her bottle of tea that she packed and took a sip. pip pip cheerio "Next stop, Mythos University." Elunia pinched her cheeks to wake herself up faster and soon she was on the campus of Mythos University. There was more people than she had ever seen in her life and her eyes widened at the sight of them. Oh my! She thought, but managed to keep up with the crowd even with her incredibly out of shape self.
C107... She had basically engraved that number into her forehead and repeated it numerous times. Eventually, she ended up in the right place and she breathed in the fresh smell of... America. It smelled so different from England. She took out the key and unlocked it with nervous hands and almost dropped them. The sight was incredible.
She dropped off her bag at a random bed and ran towards the window without bothering to close the door. She closed her eyes and couldn't help but feel blissful and relaxed. sorry for the crappy ending i need to eat dinner now DX

Location:: Airport ↣ Campus Mood:: Tired ↣ Confused/Lost ↣ Neutral
Thank gods! Essence thought when she finally landed. She'd had enough of being on the plane. She didn't mind flying in one; she didn't get airsick, but the plane food was terrible. She hadn't managed to get a wink of sleep on the plane, either. Maybe it was because the baby sitting next to her kept crying. What had she chose that seat? She rubbed her forehead as she got off the plane and dragged her belongings with her. Even though she was tired of the plane, it didn't mean she was all excited about college either. Being an adult sounded like a pain, but life had to move on, and Essence intended to move with it. She had no intention to be left behind.
When she finally had all the luggage and flight things sorted out, Essence decided to take the bus. After all, since the bus stopped at different stops, hopefully she could catch up on some sleep.
After almost missing her stop due to sleeping, then getting lost because of her bleariness after sleeping, Essence found the campus. Finding it should have been easy, but with Essence, you never knew.Tugging at her oversized sweater's sleeves, she managed to arrive at her dorm or whatever it's called orz. She unlocked the door, and seeing that the person sharing with her hadn't came yet, plopped down on one of the beds, dropping her suitcase and taking a moment to lie down on the bed and close her eyes. She was finally here, and it surprised her how lonely she felt. She sighed, then began to unpack, placing things on her desk and closet, and wondering when her roommate would come.

Location: Campus Mood: Hesitant......cold...
Stepping off the bus, Madison felt a chill run through his body and rubbed his arms. He knew the weather would be cooler so far north and had chosen a long-sleeved shirt, but...well, just yesterday he'd felt like dying from the Florida heat. The change to whatever Massachusetts called this season was too much.
I should've worn the jacket, too.
He took a deep breath and moved to the edge of the sidewalk, out of the way. Looking up at the building before him, he felt a familiar tickling in the back of his mind and frowned. This place, too? He shook the thought out of his head. He needed to find his dorm and put his things away. Maybe after that, he could...
If he remembered the campus map correctly, that building was the administration office. From there, it was a fair walk to the dorms. He almost regretted bringing a suitcase without wheels (actually, it had wheels, but he'd broken them a long time ago). It wasn't too heavy, being mostly clothes and a few books, but the campus was pretty big.
Before he did anything, though, he had to make a phone call.
"Hello?" His mother's voice sounded tired. She'd either been busy, or she just got up from a nap.
"Hey, Mom. I, ah...arrived?"
"Oh, good. I was wondering when you were going to call. So the flight was okay? You didn't have any problems?"
Oh, right. He was supposed to call when he got off the plane. Before the bus ride. "The flight was fine." How should he tell her he'd forgotten? "The, ah, bus ride, too..."
There was a brief pause before his mother said, "I thought you were calling late."
"Sorry."
"At least you remembered eventually. Now, go get settled in. I'll talk with you later."
Was it wrong of him to not want to talk later?
After checking with administration to confirm his room number, Madison (finally) began the walk to his room, carrying the suitcase that was determined to feel much heavier than it actually was. And since he couldn't find the elevator, he had to take the stairs to his second-floor room.
Being indoors made that tickling feeling start up again. He'd planned to unpack first, but changed his mind upon reaching his room and just tossed the suitcase onto the nearest bed, then pulled out a jacket and headed right back out. A jog around the campus would do him good.

Location: Parking Lot--> Dorm room Mood: Excited
Gwen could not have gotten out of New York fast enough, and now that she was here she was ecstatic. Finally she was on her own, no more pageants in the near future, and no more obsessive mother hovering over, it was freedom if there ever was such a thing. She pulled into the parking lot nearest her dorm, the movers about 5 minutes behind her. She inhaled a deep breath of fresh, crisp, cool air, "I am ready." she said to herself. She looked in the rear view mirror one last time, fluffing her gold hair and flipping it behind her, then taking out her Mary Kay all in one compact, she applied a fresh coat of red lip gloss before deciding that she looked good enough to let the city of Troy, Massachusetts see her for the first time.
She stepped out, letting her black, ankle boots hit the pavement with a 'click.' Self-consciously she began fixing her clothes, she pulled up her thigh-high black socks, then pulling down her white skirt and the sleeves of her leather jacket, and put on her knit hat. Her pageant coach told her that she needed to let go of her beauty, that it was ok to have a single hair out of place, that it made her seem more 'real'. She disagreed, people always judged by looks first, and she was as real as they come. She threw her leather, fringe bag over her shoulder and leaned against her car, waiting for the small moving van to arrive.
Her parents couldn't be bothered with their socialite lives to come with her. Well her father had an excuse, if he was telling the truth, he was over in Brazil on a business trip, if he wasn't then he was with one of his many mistresses. Her mother just didn't want to go, telling her that if she had a spa trip planned for that time and couldn't cancel.
She pushed the thoughts of her parents from her mind and concentrated on what she had to do. She pulled out the form that told her where her dorm was and that she was to share the room with Madeline Coleman. She hoped this person was willing to handle her. She had been told that she was spoiled and could be a little greedy when it came to things. Like in middle school she convinced Henry Dicen to give up his locker in exchange for being her lab partner for the whole year. Maybe she could convince this person Madeline to maybe give her a little bit more than half, after all she could give them anything they asked for.
She pushed herself off her car when she saw the moving van come down the road. Hopefully this would be an easy process, she didn't bring too many things, well she had to leave a lot behind after seeing how the dorms were set up, but she would make do, and do anything to be independent and away from her mother. She talked with the moving men for a minute and led the way to her dorm and found she was the first one there. She hoped to it and just told the movers to take the old mattress away and replace it with a brand new one she just bought for this occasion. It wouldn't take long for them to finish moving in (2-3 trips maybe), but the size of the room had her a little worried it was so small. She would have to come up with some space saving strategies because this wouldn't do. She sat on her bed and began looking up ways to save space in a dorm room. 75% of her things were clothes and shoes any way, so it wouldn't be hard to just order some boxes to store them under her bed and some more for extra storage.
She got up and leaned against the door and watched the other students move in hoping to catch a glimpse of her next door neighbor.

Post by Sammie on Aug 21, 2015 21:09:19 GMT
Location | Going to the dorms/inside dorm building, just wandering around
Status | scared so bad
Companion(s) | alone/open for them interactions
Sammie stepped out of the van and into the warm air, breathing deeply. He was so glad it wasn't cold outside - it wasn't usually cold but he was still very glad. Whenever it was cold he always felt so lonely, like he wouldn't mind to simply walk off into the snow and never be found again. It sounded like a nice way to die, just walking in the cold; not that he often thought about death, but it wasn't a taboo topic to him. Everything dies and one day he would have to die, too, just like a child thinking they would never fall in love. It felt nice to think about something he could agree on and not attempt to discuss further with himself - Sammie was terrified of new people. Even as he stood there, looking at the sky, he was hoping no one would talk to him. Why did he have to be so friendly?
People always gravitated to people that were friendly, and he hated always leading the first conversation. He couldn't understand people at all - they were normal. They didn't have to worry about spending a half hour explaining stupid things. Sammie was already thinking he would tone himself down for a little bit, maybe try to be a little less friendly. That way he didn't have to feel obliged to talk to everyone, even when he didn't want to. But what if everyone else was shy? Sammie couldn't bear just standing there in silence when he could be making a good impression, gathering friends like little collectible bottle caps. He was probably going to be friendly anyway, even if he tried to seem shy like he was. Ugh.
"Well I guess I have to go, right? What if I get lost?"
Sammie grumbled as his driver nodded and sped off, not even bothering to say 'good luck' or whatever. He had already had all of his belongings sent to the school, so all he had to busy himself with was a small bag. Well, if you exclude the clouds - which were very interesting. Sammie saw the blue of the sky being smeared on - today was oil colours - and the clouds would be acrylic. He couldn't understand why he didn't just become an arts student or a philosophy freak, but he didn't like either. Sammie didn't want to end up a jobless, poor art student, and he didn't want to get tangled in himself with philosophy. But engineering let him build whatever he wanted and the jobs would always be in demand. Sammie had to think about money, always, and it was the cause of much stress. He needed to keep his grades up --- and stop staring up at the sky like a crazy person. People were starting to stare, though it took him a few moments to realize. He couldn't tell if it was his hair, his clothes, his bag, the fact he had been staring at the sky, or just everything about him. Sammie wondered if the stares were good or bad or a mix, but tried not to think too much about it. If he thought about it he would start to care that people stared; he hated it when he started to care. It was like a crazed disease and he didn't want to feel worse when he was already nervous.
There was also the fact that Sammie was tiny and weighed nothing. Ugh again.
Breathing in again - Flowers? Tulips? Roses? Nope. Looser. There's no roses just randomly around that's stupid. - Sammie tried to not be distracted. Walking forward with purpose, he decided he would just ask for directions if he got lost. It wasn't like no one would tell him where to go, right? What if he got tongue-tied? Oh god. What if he just couldn't find anyone and was lost forever? Sammie hated going places he didn't know, since it always seemed he got lost even in familiar places. As he walked towards what looked to be dorms, he felt the resistance of his knee brace. He still didn't like it and really wanted to just make one himself, but doctors were mean and he was told to just wear the one recommended. He hated doctors. They were sneaky and difficult and never understood what he was trying to say - just like everyone else, really, but whatever, right?
What about a roommate. A room. Mate.
This school did that, right? Sammie would be sharing a room with someone, and, as he opened the door (with a little effort) and stepped inside the building, he felt like a toad stuck in a pond with that weird stuff on the top. In other words, Sammie felt terrible all around. He needed food to comfort him; luckily the only reason he had a bag on him was because it was filled with snacks (chips, cookies, marshmallows, all that fun stuff) and had a flashlight in it (he was terrified of black-outs, too). Ripping open a chip bag and eating from it while he walked, Sammie looked all around and pondered why he existed. He often thought about this, not in a way that he didn't think he should exist, but he felt like people didn't think about the meaning of life enough. Everyone just asked the question and gave up when there wasn't and immediate and understandable answer. However, Sammie was never the type to just give up and play dead, so he was bent on thinking about it whenever he didn't have anything else that needed his attention.

"Air China flight XXX, flying from Hong Kong to Troy, Massachusetts; your flight has been delayed. We apologize for the inconvenience."
Storm clouds had been brewing over the tropical island even before the earliest flight. Dante paced around nervously, his fast-paced heartbeat mingled with a pang of excitement, anxiety, and frustration. Currently his flight was delayed 4 hours. "Hey Ceb, looks like our flight's delayed." He gave his pup a quick scratch behind the ears before proceeding on with his, well, lecture. "Pets aren't allowed in dorms so don't go causing me trouble. Things will be different at Mythos. I won't be taking you out for walks as often...and be nice to my roommate, I'm sure he'll like you." Cerberus gave him a quick lick and wagged his tail, though, Dante wondered if he really understood. Either way, he couldn't bear to leave Cerberus behind. He also decided to call his Nana to let her know that he would be arriving at Mythos University late.
「喂?娜娜?...(translating rest of conversation into English) Hello? Nana? 」 「发生了什么事吗?......(translating rest of conversation into English) Dante? Did something happen? Are you alright?」 「Yes, I'm fine. Just calling to let you know that my flight has been delayed.」 「Delayed? How long? Have you had something to eat? Make sure you get some rest.」 「4 hours. Don't worry Nana.」 「4 hours?! What are you going to do for so long. Where are you waiting? The airport should be providing some service for this, they always delay (=_=)」 「Nana, don't worry, I'll be fine.」 「Okay...did you pack enough underwear?!」 「Y-yes... (._.)」 「Don't stay up too late or go partying so much!!」 「Okay Nana.」 「Don't drink too much either, it's bad for the liver. And absolutely no girls in your dorm! Don't even think about it...you naughty kids these days.」 「Um, Nana...? (^ ^"") I'm not a kid anymore. Don't worry so much, it's bad for your health.」 「Then quit making me worry!!」 「Alright Nana, take care of yourself!」 「Don't forget to call me at least once every week!」 「I'll remember! I'll call you when I get to Troy as well.」 「You better!! First thing when you land, promise me!」 「Yes, yes, I will. First thing, I promise.」 「Good. Now take care of yourself okay? I love you.」 「I love you too Nana, bye!」
- - -
From getting up in the morning in Hong Kong, to arriving in Troy, Dante hadn't slept in almost 24 hours. It was late afternoon by the time he arrived at Mythos. Dante was exhausted, but on the contrary, Cerberus was getting restless - the poor thing hadn't had a proper stretch all day. Dante dragged his feet to the dorms while struggling with a squirming puppy in his bag -- it was a near mission impossible reaching his room while raising minimal suspicion. Once there, get set Cerberus free and casually threw his bag onto the nearest bed, barely missing the head of a certain passed out figure which he mistook for a pile of luggage in his half awake state. With Cerberus now preoccupied by the curious new surrounding, Dante decided to go for a quick and much needed shower. What completely escaped his mind was a promised call back home.
Back in the dorm, Cerberus was cautiously nosing an unfamiliar scent he discovered lying on the bed while Dante's cell phone rang from his bag next to them with a very distraught Nana half way across the world on the other line.

(This is literally so gross but I'll fix it soon. There's literally a reason why I posted this when everyone's offline) "Is this your first time on an airplane?" "Yes, how can you tell?" "Well," Anemone started, pointing at the younger girl's firm grasp on the arm rest, "we haven't even taken off yet, and you're gripping onto it as if it's your lifeline. Before the girl could respond, she took out a piece of gum, gesturing for the girl to take it as she continued, "Since this is your first time and all, you should know to always bring gum with you. It helps prevent your ears popping. In my case, it only lessens the popping to a certain extent where it's not as painful." The girl took it and quietly thanked her.
Anemone crossed her legs and glanced out the small window. It was rather pointless and a waste of money to hop on a plane when she was only several hours away from the college. Anemone, however, loved the whole experience of riding a plane, and she didn't want to drive for extended periods of time. Not for how boring the trip would be but for the fact she didn't trust herself to be behind the wheel.
-------------------------------------------
"My name's Amy." ".................." "What's your name?" Anemone slowly slid her eye mask up so that she could see her better. "Nice to meet you, Amy. My name Anemone, and I'm going to sleep. As in I'm going to block out whatever you say from this point on." "But it's only 8 pm!" "Yes, but we still have six more hours which means if I don't fall asleep quick, someone else is and will start to snore. Plus I have another flight to catch after this one." -------------------------------------------
"Are you asleep yet?" "I wish..." "How old are you?" "How old are you?" "Thirteen." "How did I manage to make a young one like me enough to keep me from sleeping?" "I'm not young!" "Do you have a boyfriend?" "No, do you have a boyfriend?" "No." "Do you have a girlfriend?" "Nope. Do you have a girlfriend?" "Well....."
------------------------------------------- "I spy a really pretty shade of blue!" Anemone gazed around, looking for anything that would match the color. She directed her focus to Amy and noticed her lips were curved into a small, vibrant smile which only opened to let out a few giggles. "How old are you again?" "Just guess!" "The sky?" "Nope. Guess again." "Your backpack?" "Noooo!" "The bracelet you're wearing." "No!" "What is it then?" "Your eyes."
Two could play at that game.
"I spy something small, frail, and yet ever so beautiful." "You?" "Not me! It's you" The girl consciously grabbed her wrist, but Anemone intertwined their fingers together and brought Amy's small wrist close to her mouth. Though what she wanted to kiss was hidden because of the bracelet, Anemone pretended it wasn't even there. Trailing down, She softly placed a few kisses on the bracelet itself and the skin below it. Anemone slowly backed away and whispered, "Don't tell you know who about this." As soon as she said that, the plane landed, and Anemone left Amy with only a wink. ------------------------------------------------- "Why are you calling me?" "You know exactly why I'm calling you." "Don't sound so serious. I didn't do anything too bad." "Then why have I been getting constant calls and the topic they keep bringing up is wanting to do it with me." "If you must know, I put your phone number on this site I found a couple of days ago. Your status was something I came up with spur of the moment. Let's just say that's why so many people have been calling you." "Go-" Anemone's cheerful tone soon vanished and was replaced with words that were laced with venom. "Don't mess with me again. You should be glad I wasted so much time on someone like you." He didn't bother responding so she finished. "I can't wait to see you when we have our reunion~" "Wai-" "Oh, and I heard you and Angie have been hitting it off." "How did you know?" "You don't need to know. Just be glad she got to you after we broke up." "What would you have done if I started seeing her when we were dating?" "Good thing you'll never find out."
Anemone ended the call and glanced upwards to the taxi driver. "Where are you headed to?" "Mythos University." "Dad, I’m here." "Dad?" "Hello??" "Are you crying?"
Anemone heard the noise suddenly stop and knew that he had ended the call. She placed her phone back into her pocket and gave the driver a tip with the amount he had earlier asked for. He hadn't said a single word, and she knew the small sniffs would've turned into sobs if he had even tried to. She would just have to call him the next day and only hope he wouldn't be as emotional. Anemone exited the cab and in a matter of minutes, she was left on the side of the road with nothing but her luggage. She realized that for the first time she was alone. She was in an entirely different state and knew not a single person at this school. On the first plane ride, she had Amy. On the second plane ride, she had the man dying behind her. In the taxi, she had the driver.
Now it was only her surrounded by people she didn't know.
Anemone shook off the butterflies that were forming in her stomach by repeating song lyrics in her head. She took a deep breath then stretched for the first time in several hours, hoping that doing so would ease her nerves. Anemone was beyond tired since Amy prevented her from sleeping all night. She wanted to sleep but knew that would only cause her sleeping schedule to further screw up plus she was way too nervous to do so. Sighing, she began to follow the crowd of students that were walking in front of her. ---------------------------------------
Before she knew it, she was already in front of her room. She was so lost in her thoughts that she almost passed the room. Anemone opened the door and noticed that her roommate was already there and situated. She placed her luggage on the empty bed and walked towards the girl so she could get a better look. Her hair cascaded down her back in curls, her bangs were dangerously close to her eyes, and she was rather petite. Anemone made a small hum in approval and gave her a short greeting before pulling her into a hug and kissed her cheek. She backed away then apologized, "Oh, sorry. It's a force of habit. I'm Anemone by the way. It's nice to meet you."

[ LOCATION ] Home in Troy, Massachusetts • Father's Car • Erato Hall
[ MOOD ] Unexcited - just want to get things done and settle into her new home.
Beep beep - beep beep - beep beep! A slightly sleep-deprived Madeline rolled out of bed a little unwillingly. She had accidentally packed her cell phone among her luggage the night before, so she unpacked and repacked nearly a whole suitcase full of neatly arranged clothes and a few books. She would finally beginning her new college life in... Troy, Massachusetts, the city she grew up in. Coupled with the fact that her father was a professor at Mythos, she knew the university like the back of her hand. How... exciting. Though she supposed the prospect of meeting new friends did excite her a little.
Her morning routines flew by, and before she knew it, her father was driving her to school. If Madeline had it her way, she would be promptly out the door and in her dorm before the sun rose, but her father was a complete snail. How is it that he has absolutely no sense of urgency?! Then again, if she had it her way, her father wouldn't even been driving. It would be uncomfortable if her potential friends recognized him. But, of course, her cheapskate dad didn't buy another car, and both of them needed a ride. It would be nice to have a mother, but Madeline's father was unmarried. And, hauling her belongings via public transit was out of the question. That's just impractical.
"Do you need help unloading, Maddie?" her father pulled over to the curb of Brookline Avenue.
"Nah - ugh - I'm set, dad!" Madeline called out from, grunting as she struggled to lift her suitcases out the trunk of the car. Maybe she should start hitting the gym, so she could work on her biceps - what was the difference between biceps and triceps again? Whatever.
Mr. Coleman nodded and drove off.
Backpack strapped on, Madeline rolled her two large suitcases into the elevator corner, in order to make way for the other freshmen moving in. She had two medium boxes of items strapped to the handle of each suitcase, and that was it. Efficiency was a skill, and given her lack of arm muscle, she had to admire her method. The elevator was packed full of students and luggage, and she gave the stranger beside her a small smile, trying to alleviate the awkwardness of being squashed together.
Arriving on the second floor, she reviewed her room assignment once again, 206 with a "Guinevere Lance." She'll have to ask her how to pronounce "Guinevere." She only ever saw that name in books. Madeline rolled her luggage to a stop before 206 and noticed the most beautiful girl with golden hair and red lips leaning against the door frame. If she was interested in females, her heart would be fluttering in ecstasy right now - a little superficial perhaps and she hated being judged by appearances herself, but first impressions were always a little superficial. It's human nature, after all. Hopefully, her personality would be just as impressive as her looks.
"Hi," Madeline greeted genuinely. "I'm not sure how your name is pronounced, but I'm Madeline. You're my roommate?"

LOCATION: freeway→parking lot→dorms
MOOD: calm→excited→worn out
The white ball of fur twitched as the car hit a pothole. The drive has been pretty smooth until now and the tiny kitten slowly opened her eyes. She sat up and yawned, blinking the sleep away and finally realizing what was going on. Smooth? How could the animal think the car ride was smooth? It was anything but! The driver had connected his phone to the aux cord and his music was blasting throughout the whole car, the volume and bass turned on max. Even the steady purr of the car's engine was drowned out by how loud the thumping was. If the vehicle was idle, the whole damn thing could probably start an earthquake with how much it was vibrating. Luckily it was only speeding at 85 mph so Massachusetts is safe for the time being.
Meow. The white puffball let out a quiet mew but it was only drowned out by the music. She tried again. Mew.. The driver didn't even budge as he kept his eyes on the road. Irritated that she was being ignored, the kitten leapt off the passenger seat and landed on Azeir's lap. "Oh geez," he gasped, completely startled. He ran his hand through his hair as he let out a soft sigh. "I thought you were still asleep Noir. Well we're almost there anyway." With the same hand, he reached down onto his lap to pet the tiny kitten on her head. "We're almost there..," he repeated to himself as he stroked Noir, who decided to curl up and nap again.
A little over an hour passed by before Azeir reached the city border where he slowly decelerated until the speedometer read 40 mph. Normally, if he was familiar with his surroundings, he would continue at his high speed. But since it was a whole new state, Azi wasn't quite sure where to go and had to slow down to find his way around. Ah! He just drove past a sign indicating that the MU dorms were ahead on his right. Azi turned into the parking lot, adjusting his volume down a bit. Just a bit. He, or rather his car, attracted several hundred pairs of eyes as it, not rolled, but vibrated its way through. Azi didn't notice though since he was too busy looking for a spot to park. Fortunately, his gaze happened to fall upon an empty spot beside a Mustang and he quickly pulled in. As he shut off his engine, his music ceased as well. Azeir grimaced, the sudden silence immediately unbearable to him. Noir hopped off his lap before Azeir pushed open his door and stepped out, inhaling in the cold air and the scent of cigarettes and absorbing the noise and chatter from which he assumed came from the rest of the kids unpacking. Azi could still feel eyes lingering on him. It was probably his car. Maybe he should turn down his music next time.. maybe.. naaaah. He enjoyed the attention he was getting. This will allow him to do what he does best. Oh yes. That's right.. It's been a while since he talked to an actual human being. How many days did he spend driving up here? Like two.. yea he may be getting a bit rusty from lack of interaction.. just kidding! Nothing can stop him now. A sudden chill ran down his spine and Azi jolted, finally realizing how cold it was. Hmm except maybe that.
Cold? Impossible.. the sun is still out. But yet, goosebumps started forming on his arms. What?? Well perhaps the weather is normal here, but compared to his old town, it was a large drop. He rubbed his arm and reached down to pop open his trunk. Everything was in there: his bags, Noir's toys, Noir's food, and most importantly at this moment his jacket. Azeir threw on his jacket, instantly feeling a little less cold. Ah this jacket does wonders.. After all, it is his favorite jacket. The inside is soft af and it was in his favorite shade of blue, electric blue! "Noir let's go,"Azeir called out to his companion, opening his hand for the tiny animal. He watched as Noir stretched and yawned for what seemed like long period of time before she stepped onto his palm. As she did so, Azeir let out a yawn himself. He was so focused on driving this whole time, he didn't even realize he was exhausted. Now it's really time to go. Azeir placed Noir on his shoulder, in order to free his hand so he could bring everything in one go. While Azi put on his backpack, Noir took it upon herself to crawl off of his shoulder and into Azi's hood. One messenger bag over his shoulder, Noir's bag of toys in his left hand and Noir's bags of food under his right arm later, Azi was good to go. Whatever he missed, he'll just have to get it later. At this moment, Azi did not feel like himself at all. All he wanted right now was to get up to his room and take a nice, long cat nap of his own. He shuffled by the other freshman, not even sparing them a glance of any kind. He even walked right past some cuties like damn he didn't even notice them.
Room key? Got it. Room number? Got it. Roommate? Who was it again? Azeir's memory failed him as he tried to remember whether or not he had a roomie. It didn't matter to him though since both had it's advantages. If he was alone, he could bring home whoever whenever he wanted. If he had a mate, he'd just hardcore get at him like 24/7. Azi smiled to himself. Both had it's advantages.
"Clio clio clio.." Azeir murmured to himself as he entered the Clio dorms. "Mmm, oneee oh twoooo," he dragged out as he strode down the hall, looking for the room. When he reached his room, rather than actually going inside, Azi stood there staring at the door. This was going to be his new home from now on. New home, new life. Let's get started.. Azeir unlocked and pushed open the door, slowly taking one step in. Hmm it's not that bad. It wasn't that bad at all. The room was pretty spacious even after Azi decided to drop everything he was carrying on the floor right in front of the doorway. He let out a groan as he staggered over to a bed luckily it was the empty one and plopped face down on it. Thirty seconds passed before Azeir turned his head for air and rolled over to his side. There was a sharp yelp and some pushing against the back of his neck as Noir tried to get out of Azi's hood. Finally freeing herself from the small space, Noir hopped over Azeir's shoulder and in front of his face. To much of her disappointment, the boy was already fast asleep. Mew.. meeww.. meeewww! Noir whined as she tried to get his attention, but to no avail. She was hungry and she wanted food now. Still trying to get his attention, Noir began patting Azeir's cheek, letting out a soft meow every so often.
wow this was so bad im so sorry writers block + 4am = dead

Location: Dorm Mood: Good Company: Madeline Coleman The last of Gwen's things had come up and she stood at the door a couple of minutes more, just in case her neighbors decided to show, but alas she would have to wait until tonight or tomorrow to meet them. She was about to turn into the room and start unpacking her things when a small girl with curly blonde and grey eyes came up to her and introduced herself, and asked her how to pronounce her name.
"It's 'Gwen-a-veer' like the queen of Camelot. But please call me Gwen." she replied pleasantly. This girl seemed alright, a little straight forward but that wasn't always such a bad thing. "And we are roommates. I hope you and I can become good friends." she said sounding a bit rehearsed than she meant to, like she was talking to the press or a pageant host. That would be hard not to do. She wanted to seem authentic to the person she would be sharing a small space with for years, but she didn't want her to go off and tell someone that 'Guinevere Lance, Miss Teen USA, was a mean girl.' That wouldn't be good for image at all.
She stepped out of the way to make way for the girl to haul her things in. "Sorry for all the boxes. It just seems like a warehouse full of things, but it's mostly just clothes." she laughed. She did manage to keep her boxes on her side, which was a victory in itself, but it did manage to take up most of the space on her side of the room. "Is that all you brought?" she asked curiously. Surly the girl had more. Two suitcases and a backpack hardly screamed 'I plan on staying here for four years.' She brought more luggage with her on a long weekend vacation to Albany, which was only a few short hours from her NYC home. Of course she always packed like she was never coming back. She smiled up at the girl, "Because if it isn't I am sure the movers that helped me are still here, I could get them to carry up a few more things." she offered more so to get on the girls good side, she didn't want her roommate to hate her right off the bat.She didn't need someone running all over the place telling everyone that 'Guinevere Lance, former Miss Teen USA, was a 'mean girl.' She just couldn't have any of that happen. But she didn't know this girl at all, she shouldn't jump to conclusions, this girl may be her very first friend ever that was genuine or she could be her very worst enemy...but only time will tell which, and the only way she will know is if she got to know the girl first.

Location: Parking Lot → Dorms Mood: Stressed :: Irritated
"You better do well at this new school. We can't have any dishonor brought down on our family, especially if our daughter fails at a prestigious school like this." Azalea wanted to snap the phone in half, and then throw it at the nearest person in hopes that it would by some chance electrocute them. Like that would help in showing your parents that you hate them for making you become this way, her subconscious whispered. She was becoming ridiculously annoyed with her parents, if it wasn't obvious enough - she really, really just wanted one day where they weren't pressuring her to carry on their legacy of prestige. Inside of her was a tumultuous, turbulent storm, yet her face showed nothing but being calm, measured, composed. She had learned long ago how to hide her internal emotions, and show to public a mask of what she was supposed to be. She was walking to Mythos University, after taking an airplane to the university's location and a taxi to the university. With a messenger bag in hand and her head filled with her mantra of 'don't lose focus,' Azalea felt something in her throat edging at her, make her feel anxious and poking at her confident exterior. Was this called doubt? Doubt that she might not be right about her perception that she'd make her parents proud of her for once in her life? She hated the feeling, whatever it was.
"Yeah, okay, okay . . . " What you really want to say is 'Stop pressuring me, I know I'll do well,' right? Don't be so confident, it's only going to bring you down and make you an even worse disappointment that your parents already think you are, Azalea, her subconscious said, languidly, in a relaxed manner - almost infuriatingly. She wanted nothing more than to have an okay year at Mythos, no matter what it would take. So, she prayed - prayed, hoped that her roommate would be okay, hoped that her classes and classmates would be tolerable - she just wanted to have a good year. She stared at the dorm assignment in the slip of paper in her hand. C107. She sucked in her cheeks, pondering over who would be her roommate. Someone prissy, ostentatious and vain? Or perhaps someone boisterous and reckless, not giving a care about or anything? Or perhaps someone quiet and elusive, or maybe someone so hollow and empty -
Like yourself?
She chose to ignore that last comment from her subconscious, focused on - no, no, not the word focus. She hated that word with a burning passion. Payed particular attention seemed better. Yes, she payed particular attention to getting to the dorm without any complications. Yes, that. With her heart heavy with the weight of her parents' expectations (wasn't it always that way?), and her mind filled with a storm, she trudged her way to the dorms. Clio, Room 107 - she could see Clio Hall in the distance. She didn't really think much of the exterior, only really caring about the inside. She entered the dorm, and looked at the numbers. 102, 106, 107 - 107, that was hers. She unlocked the door to the room with a dorm key, and saw a silver haired girl laying down on one of the beds of the room. At first she was rather confused - thinking, who is this girl and what exactly is she doing in my room? That was before she realized that the girl was her roommate.
". . . Hello?" Azalea said tentatively, unsure of what to say. For the first time in her life, she felt uneasy talking to someone - usually she was so brash, confident, sure of herself. Why now? Why was she so uncomfortable now? "I suppose you're my roommate? My name's Azalea Northampton, but you can call me Lea if you want. What's your name?" So much for making an intimidating first impression. She set her messenger bag down and her luggage on what was now her side of the room since the silver-haired girl had taken the other.
"So . . . what do you think of this place?" Azalea asked. She wasn't quite sure what to say, which was unusual for her - she was usually good with people, making them open up to her easily. Why was it so different with this girl? It just felt so strange to her - but it wasn't that she hated it, necessarily.

Location:: Dorm Mood:: Slightly nervous yet eager
Essence put down her lamp on her desk before pausing to take a break. After all, she'd just gotten here, there was so much more to do rather than be sensible and unpack! Maybe she should go for a walk, or leave campus and explore. To be honest, she was a little hungry. She hadn't eaten and all she'd packed was a few snacks: a bag of chips and cookies that her mom had made her. She sat on her bed and pulled out the bag of cookies and in a few seconds, she was munching on them. Wish I had some strawberry milk, She mused. She glanced at the door, her roommate still hadn't come, so maybe Essence could leave; or would it be better to wait? She pondered on this before hearing the door open. Essence looked over, and saw a girl; she had black glossy hair and pretty blue eyes. Even though there wasn't anything special about her, Essence thought this girl looked even better than the girls she saw who covered themselves with makeup.
Essence found herself pulled into a hug, and the girl kissed her on the cheek. Is this how they greet people here? Or is this female new to America as well? Essence wondered if she should return the gesture. In France, they usually shook hands or kissed each other on the cheeks. Though Essence always thought that cheek-kissing was a bit awkward; her mother would scold her if she didn't return the gesture. But it was America; maybe this girl just liked cheek-kissing and after all, her mother wasn't here to scold her. There was a lot of American customs she would have to learn. For the next four years of her life, Essence would have to forget everything in France and cram in American manners.
"Oh, sorry. It's a force of habit. I'm Anemone by the way. It's nice to meet you." Essence shook her head, hoping she didn't come off rude or too chatty anything like that. Usually she didn't talk so much, but it would be a lie if she said she wasn't even the slightest bit nervous. "No, no, it's fine. In France, we do a lot of that too. Nice to meet you too, Anemone. My name is Essence, but you can call me Aria." Essence wanted to sound more...open, but people had always said she was a hard person to approach at times. She wanted to make a good impression. This was the place she was staying in for four years, and Anemone was going to be one of her many colleagues. Essence wanted to make the most of her university years, and it all started with impressions. [/quote]
